Anika Ariana Hernández Vera

Anika Ariana Hernández Vera (born on August 29, 2003, in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico) is a committed and versatile pianist with a deep interest in contemporary music. She is currently studying at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz (Austria) under the guidance of Prof. Saskia Giorgini and is a scholarship holder of the Rotary Club Wels for the 2024/2025 academic year. Since March 2025, she has also joined the Artistic Enhancement Program at the Davidsbündler Academy in The Hague (Netherlands), founded by pianist Anna Fedorova, where she works with Prof. Borys Fedorov. In addition, she receives regular mentorship from pianist Mathilde Hoursiangou in Vienna.

Her musical education began at the age of three in her hometown, where she studied with pianist and soprano Akie Ito Breton. From a young age, she performed regularly in Mexico in various venues. At the age of 15, she received a scholarship from the Heinrich-Fries-Stiftung in Munich, which allowed her to continue her studies with Prof. Aleksandra Romanic. She later pursued further training in Hamburg with Prof. Delphine Lizé, Prof. Manfred Fock, and pianist Wera Wassiljeva.

She has participated in numerous festivals, academies, and masterclasses, including NyMusikk and TOSPANN in Norway, and the impuls Festival – Academy for Contemporary Music in Graz, Austria. In the summer of 2025, she will take part in the Time of Music – Musiikin Aika Festival (Finland), Porto Pianofest, and Oeiras Piano Festival (Portugal), as well as various solo recitals in Mexico.

Her artistic development has been shaped by her collaboration with renowned musicians in the field of classical and contemporary music, such as Nicolas Hodges, Alfonso Gómez, Mark Knoop, Florian Hölscher, Stefan Wirth, Talvi Hunt, Dimitrios Polisoidis, Benedicte Palko, Pietro De Maria, and Meesun Coleman Hong. She has also worked with composers such as Matthew Shlomowitz, Talia Amar, and Asia Ahmetjanova.

Alongside her classical training, Anika maintains an active interest in chamber music, jazz improvisation, and alternative instruments such as the toy piano. She has also pursued lessons in singing, guitar, and violin. In addition to her piano studies, she will start studying media composition and computer music with Prof. Andreas Weixler as part of the Schwerpunkt program at the ABPU. Her path as a musician reflects a deep commitment to artistic growth, curiosity, and the exploration of diverse musical languages.
